Aarti began her acting career in early 1980s by playing small roles in big budget films like Aamne Samne, Haadsa, Zamane Ko Dikhana Hai and others. Her first lead role was opposite debutant Mohnish Behl

She quit acting after getting married to Kailash Surendranath. She recently played a cameo in Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om (2007) as a hostess at the premiere of a film.
