From there, heading northeast, the road runs through Brentwood

At the eastern end of Brentwood High Street, the A1023 becomes Shenfield Road at the Wilsons Corner double-roundabout junction. A turn-off at this junction takes motorists onto the A128, northbound towards Chipping Ongar
