Operations

Primary mission of the wing was to operate Weapons Employment Center at Tyndall AFB. Major responsibility of wing was to evaluate effectiveness of Air Defense Command Fighter-Interceptor squadrons which were required to spend one month each year undergoing evaluation exercises at Tyndall.

Provided interceptor combat crew training for F-101, F-102, F-104 and F-106 aircews, interceptor weaons training; testing and evaluation of manned interceptors.
