. The 466 AEG reports directly to the Commander, 9th Air Expeditionary Task Force – Afghanistan.

The 466 AEG's mission was formerly performed by the now inactive 755th Air Expeditionary Group.

Mission

The unit's mission is threefold:
  1. Provide total visibility and accountability of JET airmen from training, deployment, employment and redeployment
  2. Support airmen with ADCON/OPCON responsibilities
  3. Ensure Tactical Commander (Ground commanders and Joint Organizations) is fully supported with the right airmen, in the right job with the right skills, on time.

 operations with essential resources to strengthen security and build a solid infrastructure.

Unit description

The 466th AEG is composed of Airmen from more than 115 Air Force Specialty Codes including security forces, explosive ordinance disposal, civil engineering, contracting, communications, medical, intelligence, legal and logistics support to train local officials and rebuild the country.

History

In May 2009, the group added four subordinate squadrons to provide the growing number of Airmen supporting supporting Provincial Reconstruction Team
