The Lions won the coin toss in overtime, but they elected to kick the ball to the Bears because of the 17 mph winds on the field, hoping they would have the opportunity to use the advantage they gained by picking their end zone. Unfortunately for the Lions, the Bears drove down the field. In a controversial call, the Lions accepted a holding penalty on 3rd and 5, giving the Bears an extra down on 3rd and 15. Miller converted the first down on a pass to Dez White, setting up a 40 yard field goal by Edinger which gave the Bears the win.
