's green line. It is the STM's busiest bus route serving an average of 36,999 daily passengers on an average weekday. An average 42,000 passengers use both the 505 and 139 combined during an average week day making it one of the busiest bus corridors in the city. The fare is $3.00 cash (coins only) or an STM transit pass.

Schedule

This route is part of the STM's 10 Minutes Max network, which means the routes is served by a bus at maxim intervals of 10 minutes or less between the hours of 6 AM and 9 PM during the week days, however during rush hour service is provided by bus route 505 Reserved Lane Pie-IX

 which operates on a reserved lane, though the 139 continues to operated every 3–5 minutes. On the week-end schedules are at intervals of 6 minutes during the day and 10 minutes in the morning and late evenings.

Future

By 2013 the construction of two reserved lanes for the 139 and 505 will be added to the centre of the boulevard, stretching from the north end of the city to the south end sould be complete. The reserved lanes will include medians, sidewalks and priority traffic light system to reduce passengers travel times and make it safer for pedestrians. The bus will operate 24 hours a day, as opposed to 20 hours a day.
