Elvis has been characterised by some writers to be either an admirer or supporter of Gov. George Wallace and that he sympathised when Wallace was a victim of an assasination attempt, but where is the evidence for all this when,by his own admission,he was not a political person but merely an entertainer and even his inner circle have also endorsed this saying that Elvis never even voted. There is nothing written on this subject by those who knew Elvis only writers who never met him.According to my knowledge/research, Wallace and Elvis met only once briefly, and this was in March 6th,1974 before Elvis performed a show in Montgomery.Alabama.Wallace himself was said to be an Elvis fan and had named the week in Elvis' honor which Elvis acknowledged to the audience.
Has this one-time meeting between the two been stretched into something it was not by writers who never knew/met him? It is well known that Elvis had an affinity for black folk, not only black music, but the people in general.
