Accident

On 9 June 2009, Toprak was involved in a karting accident, in which he suffered severe burns and had to be treated in a special clinic. He was able to resume training only after four months. On 6 January 2010, Toprak played one half-time period in the friendly match against Elche CF. He has since signed for Bayer Leverkusen.
