The Zulu Royal family is the current ruling indigenous royal family of the Southern African Zulu peoples. The dynasty arguably began with Shaka kaSenzangakhona, who turned a small clan into a large and well-known nation. It is essentially composed of all of his descendants, though the most recognised branch of the family is the group of immediate relatives that surrounds the reigning monarch of any given era.
