Yukon Territorial Council

The Yukon Territorial Council was the first sitting of the Yukon Legislative Assembly
. The Council began with the appointment of its first members on July 8, 1898 and was dissolved in June of 1909.
held on October 18, 1900 elected two members at large. The council would divide the territory into districts for the second general election
held on January 13, 1903. Two more general elections would follow before the council was entirely dissolved. Appointed members during this period did not have to be reappointed, only seats to elected members were dissolved. The elections were called by the Yukon Commissioner, while electoral district boundaries were controlled by an act of legislation from the council.
