Plot synopsis

Yogi wants to get as far away from Jellystone Park and its patronizing tourists as he can (in later episodes, he would become a notorious tourist stalker and food thief). He devises a series of elaborate but futile escape plans, several of which are foiled by a sharp-eyed park ranger (an early prototype of Ranger Smith

  • Yogi's first attempt is crawling underneath the ranger's eyes, but unfortunately, a few tourists in a car saw Yogi and said "Look at the bear! Look at the bear!", the ranger than sees Yogi and then the bear crawls back.

  • Yogi's second attempt is to ride on the back of a car, but the ranger saw him and Yogi walked back into the park.

  • The next attempt is to ride in a trailer

     disguised as a women, the ranger asks if "she" enjoyed the park, Yogi says it's the "craziest". The ranger finally realized that the women is actually Yogi, so the bear went back into the park again.

  • Next, he plays dead on to of a car to make the ranger think the driver shot him. The ranger proceeds to tell the driver that bear hunting is not allowed. The driver was confused("Bear hunting? Who's bear hunting?"), the ranger than realizes the trick and says to the driver that if Yogi is really shot, he can be taken out of the park. Then the ranger checks if he is really "dead' by sticking a pin into him, Yogi then runs back yowling in pain.

  • The next attempt is pole vaulting over the wall and out of the park. However, he accidentally stuck the pole into a gopher hole and pole sunk deep into the hole. Yogi then comments "That is one big gopher hole.".

  • Next, he attempts to dig a tunnel under the ranger station and digs up out of the park, unfortunately, Yogi dug right up to the ranger station.

  • Yogi's next attempt is to use a pine tree as a catapult and uses a parachute

    to float out of the park. However when the rope was released, Yogi falls flat on the ground.

  • Yogi tries a second attempt to catapult out of the park. He finally let go, but crashed onto another tree.

  • Yogi does one more attempt to catapult out of the park, which was almost successful, unfortunately, he floated down into a park maintenance truck that went into the park.

  • Yogi's final attempt to get out of the park is to blast himself out of the park. But before he blasted himself out, the ranger comes and asks BooBoo where Yogi is. Booboo pretends he hasn't seen Yogi. The ranger then says that it's bear hunting season. Finally, the cannon blasted Yogi out of the park, which leads to Yogi being chased by hunters, he than says to the audience "I've only been out two minutes and I'm homesick for the park already.", then the short closes.
