For 2010 and 2011, the race used a shorter version of the F1 track, with a "Corkscrew" secion between Turn 3 and halfway down the back straight. This shortens the track to 4.7km, with lap times around 2 minutes. However, with the 2012 race being run as part of the 2012 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, it is unknown if the short course or the full course will be used.
The first event was won by Jamie Whincup
who won both races dominating the weekend. Whincup also won the second event in 2011
