Season one

Upon their arrival, the Tekins quickly adapt to Istanbul. Its quickly revealed that Fikret, the oldest of five, broke her long engagement with a man she truly loved because his family wasn't suiting Ali Riza's vision of honest family. No one except her father realize how intelligent and helpful she is, and constantly reject her tries for help. Necla enrolls architecture college, and Leyla begins her pre-college courses. Şevket has already finished college and recently back from the army begins working as a banker.

Soon, darkness falls upon the family. First Necla falls for Oguz, scheming man who Ali Riza encounters during his first days in Istanbul, but after realizing his schemes abandons him. Soon enough after nearly running over a man with a motorcycle, Leyla in order to attract attention begins dating Oguz, until he rapes her. Şevket at his workplace meets the evil Ferhunde. Manipulative and cunning she manipulates Şevket to marry her, despite knowing her only a week.

Ferhunde quickly adapts into the family, and gains everybody's thrust, manipulating Şevket in the background. After finding out that Leyla was raped by Oguz, Ferhunde blackmails him to marry her or she'll tell his boss Yaman about his affair with Yaman's wife. Oguz marries Leyla, making her life a living hell. Necla having become jealous of Leyla's new-found fortune begins to hate her which leads to their rivalry.

Things culminate in the season final when Necla thinking that Oguz really loves her arranges to escape with him, leaving Leyla, who upon realizing what had happened experiences a nervous breakdown. Fikret furious at her father for being blind and letting evil enter their home accepts an offer to marry an unknown man only to be further from the pain her family is causing her. The last scene shows Fikret boarding a train with only Ali Riza there to say goodbye to her and her narration saying that autumn has already come and nearly all the leaves had fallen with the last being her.

His oldest daughter and mother neglect Fikret, making her realize that even she made a mistake leaving her family for unknown man.

After leaving Oguz Necla starts living in a poor motel where the landlady's ulterior motives led her into prostitution only to back off at the last moment and returns to her family. After months of being rejected and humiliated by her sister the two finally reconcile in the season final. Şevket ends up in jail where he finally understands what the marriage with Ferhunde has caused him.
