History

The university was established in 1981 under the name Lujiang Industrial University. The university comes under the administration of Xiamen government and the Fujian provincial government in Fuzhou

 to provide science and technology courses to the general public.

The university has created a joint-venture called Digital Innovation College with partnering universities; Ming Chuan University and Central University.

Campuses

The university has two main campuses. They are located in Siming District, Xiamen island and the other located on the mainland district of Xiamen, Jimei District
