. Completed in December, 2009, the station has 11 platforms and 20 tracks. It serves the Beijing-Hong Kong high speed railway, the Shanghai-Wuhan-Chengdu passenger line, and Zhengzhou/Jiujiang-bound passenger trains.

Design

The station was designed by Amenagement, Recherche, Pole d'Echanges (AREP), the Fourth Survey and Design Institute of China, MaP3, and SNCF

Construction

Construction of the station began in September 2006, and was completed in December 2009. It was built by China State Construction Engineering Corporation, which also built the Wuhan Airport

The total construction area of the station is 370860 m² (443,544.9 sq yd), of which the station building has a 114602 m² (137,062.9 sq yd) floor area, a 13324 m² (15,935.4 sq yd) elevated pedestrian platform, a 143664 m² (171,820.7 sq yd) non-stop pillar canopy, a 60650 m² (72,536.8 sq yd) ground floor, and a 38620 m² (46,189.1 sq yd) ground floor car park. The main arch spans 116 metres and the highest point is 58 metres above the ground.
