In 2001, Sampson received a scholarship to play at Schoolcraft College in Michigan, where he was an integral part of the programs success until 2002. Immediately following Schoolcraft, he received another 2-year grant to play at Madonna University in Michigan. There he encountered significant exposure for his record breaking achievements.
