The Workers Solidarity Movement is an anarchist organisation in Ireland broadly in the platformist tradition of Nestor Makhno. It was set up in 1984 and publishes the paper Workers Solidarity and the magazine Red and Black Revolution....

 was founded in 1984, the members began to publish Workers Solidarity as a primary part of their activity. It was first produced in a traditional newspaper format and sold for 20 Irish pence when the organisation was founded in 1984. Members distributed it in local pubs and at political rallies and demonstrations. Early issues were written in support of the Dunnes Stores Strike against apartheid and against Catholic Church control of education. The paper changed in 2000 to its current format. Members distribute Workers Solidarity primarily door-to-door in their local neighbourhoods, and also at political demonstrations and other events.

As of February 2008, it has released 100 issues and has a print run of 8000.

Format

Workers Solidarity is a glossy page A4 that folds out into an A3. It contains anarchist analysis of contemporary news, and social struggles with particular focus on campaigns that the WSM is involved in. There are also Historical articles on class struggle history and a 'Thinking about Anarchism' section which contains a basic introduction to an aspect of anarchist theory. Past issues have contained discussions on Feminism
