Disabled access is poor: although the London bound platform is accessible, access to the Southbound platform is only via the pedestrian bridge or a long set of steps.

On 10 December 2007 there was a landslide on the line near the station which caused major disruptions and cancellations to all services passing through the station for one week.

Accident in 2007

In October 2007, a 14 year old girl fell into Platform 1 whilst attempting to board a train. The girl, whose destination was Raynes Park station, was boarding the train which terminated at London Waterloo to go to Raynes Park High School for school when she slipped and fell into the platform. She was holding onto her bag which was jammed in the train door. A passenger hit the emergency stop button as the train was departing at speed. The girl was sent to hospital, and recovered.
