As part of Southampton City Council's review of secondary schooling program called Learning Futures, the school closed in July 2008. It merged with Grove Park Business and Enterprise College

At the end of the 2008 summer term, the school closed it doors as Woolston School Language College, and merged with Grove Park Business and Enterprise College
