Career
Wolfgang Böwing-Treuding downed his first victory 13 July 1941, he brought his total to 9 by the end of the year. He continued to down fighters to a total of 46 including 16 Il-2 Sturmoviks. He was killed by Russian ground-fire on 11 February 1943 and was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, on 24 March 1943.Awards
