Wilma Elles

Wilma Elles is a German
actress.
She graduaded from school with Abitur in French and German at the bilingual Burgau-Gymnasium in Düren. Since the age of 10 she engaged in school theatre plays and took acting and dance classes. She also studies at the University of Cologne.
One of her first small roles Elles played in the German TV production Die Gustloff of Joseph Vilsmaier. Little later she got her first leading roles as Kika in the movie Das Weinen davor by Gökhan Sayim, which was screened at German cinema in summer 2010, Maria in Turk Usulu of Mehmet Günes and Lilly in the production Fahr zur Hölle by Joachim Mais with Christine Kaufmann and Martin Semmelrogge. She also performed on stage in the theatre Theater im Hof in Cologne.
Then in 2010 she got an offer for the Turkish TV series Öyle bir gecer zaman ki for one of the lead characters, the Dutch new wife Caroline of the former married and father of four children Captain Ali and moved to Istanbul.
As she couldn`t speak Turkish at all the beginning of the shootings, she just memorized the vocals of her lines for her play until she learned more Turkish.
The series got many awards and broke several viewer records with a continuous weekly market share of 50- 60 % and an average of 25- 30 million viewers each week in Turkey and more in the Turkish migration countries.
Elles was awarded Best Actress at the European Quality Awards 2011 and was chosen the meanest character of Turkish TV in 2011 by 48,6 % of the Turkish population(iVillage).
In the summer break she embodied an Australian woman in the cinema movie Canakalle Cocuklari from Sinan Cetin and a Frensh character in the movie "El Yazisi", which script was awarded at the Altin Portakal Film Festival.
Acutally she working on the second season of Öyle bir gecer zaman ki.
Elles invented the "Self-Stirring-Pot".
