Wilford W. Andersen

Wilford Wayne Andersen has been a general authority
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since April 2009, serving in the Second Quorum of the Seventy. He served as an area seventy between 2007 to 2009.
Andersen received a bachelors degree in business management from Brigham Young University
in 1973, and a juris doctorate from the J. Reuben Clark Law School
in 1976. As young man, he served as a missionary
for the church in the Argentina South Mission
.
Prior to his call as a general authority of the church, Andersen served as Area Seventy, Institute of Religion
instructor, temple ordinance worker, president
of the Mexico Guadalajara Mission (2002–2005), stake president, counselor in a stake presidency, stake executive secretary, bishop, bishop's counselor and high councilor. He has also been a Varsity Scout coach.
Professionally, Andersen has practised law and has been involved in real estate development since 1979.
Andersen married Kathleen Bennion on April 25, 1975, in the Provo Utah Temple
; they are the parents of nine children.
In May 2009, some of the Area Presidencies were reorganised and Andersen was called to serve as the second counselor of the Caribbean Area
with Francisco J. Viñas
as president and Gary J. Coleman as first counselor. The changes took effect from August 1, 2009.
