 which was the terminus. The route to Brymbo was almost dead straight, but was very steep and consequently had two rope worked inclined planes locally called 'brakes' and also a tunnel. The route was subsequently superseded in 1862 by a new line and yard that could be worked throughout by steam engines, this was from Croes Newydd
