Wetwang railway station

Wetwang railway station was a railway station on the Malton & Driffield Railway. It opened on 19 May 1853, and served the village of Wetwang
. It closed on 5 June 1950. For passenger traffic, Wetwang was the busiest station on the MDR (Burton).
Wetwang could also be restored as part of the restoration project and reopened as part of the new Heritage Railway line, "However Wetwang maybe the terminus of the YWR as the original site whose platform has by now leveled and infilled up".
A new station opposite the original former Wetwang station could be built on the other side of the former level crossing as part of the YWR restoration project.

Preservation
In October 2008, The Yorkshire Wolds Railway Restoration Project was formed by a group of enthusiasts with the aim of restoring at least part of the M&D railway line as a heritage attraction, marking it the only Heritage Railway in East Yorkshire.Wetwang could also be restored as part of the restoration project and reopened as part of the new Heritage Railway line, "However Wetwang maybe the terminus of the YWR as the original site whose platform has by now leveled and infilled up".
