 located at the foothills of the Red Rock National Conservation Area. West Tech Academy opened August 30, 2010 with approximately 730 grade 9 and 10 students. At full capacity, during the 2012-2013 school year, WCTA will have an enrollment of approximately 1,350 students in grades 9 to 12. The first graduating class will participate in commencement ceremonies June, 2013. It is a public magnet school administered by the Clark County School District which offers specialized programs and college preparatory classes. Students interested in attending need to apply to the school and must select a specialized course of study.

Mission

The mission at West Career & Technical Academy is to inspire its students to compete successfully in the 21st Century by providing a college preparatory education that utilizes project-based learning, real-world applications, and innovative technology.

Civil and Environmental Engineering, Information Technology (IT) Management, Business Management, Environmental Sciences and Natural Resources, Veterinary and Medical Sciences, Biotechnology, Nursing, Sports Medicine, Digital Art and Media.

WCTA offers the latest wireless technology and students are encouraged to bring their laptops and netbooks to school. Teachers and students employ project-based and scenario-based learning. A partnership with Google is providing unique and exciting opportunities in digital collaboration for WCTA students.
