There were 263 households out of which 24.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.2% were married couples
living together, 10.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.1% were non-families. 29.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.88.
In the town the population was spread out with 21.7% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 27.7% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 15.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 93.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.1 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $32,750, and the median income for a family was $40,357. Males had a median income of $29,444 versus $19,375 for females. The per capita income

in 1963, the building had the largest free-spanning dome in the United States and was the largest in the world from 1902-1913.
The property underwent a complete renovation as a part of the French Lick Resort Casino
. The Resort and Casino opened in November 2006, and the restored West Baden Springs Hotel was reopened to guests in late May 2007.
