the magazine was often very critical of the government. It was banned for a short time in 1975. Its circulation declined significantly in later times.

On birth, it had only eight pages which doubled in 2001 to include its expanded interest in issues outside politics, including culture, the internet, and heritage. It also publishes two monthly supplements - Aviatour, a tabloid on aviation and tourism, and Slate, a colored light-reading magazine.
