The school is a campus-style arrangement of seven separate single-story buildings. The oldest building is Filbrun Hall and the newest is Alumni Hall.

Athletics

Wayne High School hosts many athletic teams including men's baseball, basketball, bowling, cross-country running, men's football, golf, indoor track and field, women's fast-pitch softball, swimming and diving, soccer, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and men's wrestling. The girl's team just made history by creating their first girls golf team in thirty years.

Now in its 50th year, Wayne's varsity football team has won several conference championships and has played in the statewide playoffs at least 10 times. In 1999 and 2010, the team made it to the Division I state championship game, losing both times.

 football team ended Centerville's six-year 53-game winning streak. "Fifty-three was all they'd see!" and "Fifty-four, there'd be no more!" were popular phrases chanted at Centerville games.

The Wayne men's track team won the Division I boys state team title in 1995 and 2000.

Wayne is a member of the Greater Western Ohio Conference. It was previously a member of the Western Ohio League.
