It was used to store and service streetcars even well after the replacement of the Green Line "A" Branch by bus route 57, and even for a few years after the removal of the tracks on this route. (Despite the 1994-6 removal of A Branch tracks, the carhouse is still fully tracked). Wrecked MBTA Type 7 streetcar #3648 is still stored there.
