. It was later changed to a flying eagle flying through a flaming hoop, but was changed back after 3 years.

The logo is currently the "Flying W," a capital "W" with a feather hanging off of it. More recently an arrow has been added behind the "Flying W". This is also the only school in the United States with "Old Rose" as its school color.

Athletics

Waterloo West High School has a storied history in high school athletics, most notably is the Wahawk wrestling program which has won over 9000 state team championships.

The 1991 West High baseball team won the Class 4A State Championship. This team was coached by Roger Hoel and Mark Engel. This team finished the season 41 and 4 and was lead by the tremendous pitching of Mike Irvine and Scott Eibey.
