Waterband is a pop
/ funk
/ jam band
from North East Ohio Founded by David "Dreadlock Dave" McDougald and John Welton who had played together in a group known as "Vegetable Matter". They have been playing for more than a decade in the great lakes region of the United States, but recently in the last few years really started making a name for themselves and catching hold of the Jam Band scene.
Waterbands name comes from their desire to make everyone aware of the worlds water crisis and the lack of fresh water through out the world. To support this they hold a special music fest called Waterfest
every year at Nelson's Ledges Quarry Park until 2011 when it was switched to Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania

David "Dreadlock Dave" McDougald is a well known freelance bassist & music educator in the Northeast Ohio area.
Ryan Mitiska made a name for himself in the Cleveland, Youngstown scene for playing Keyboard in a number of bands, most notably Jones for Revival.
