Walterganj is a small town of Basti district, 8 km from headquarters. It is one of the important police stations also. In this town there is one sugar mill, post office, a small railway station (govindnagar station), an inter collage is there. Name of inter college is Shri Deshraj Narang Dayanand Inter college walterganj. There is a branch of state bank of India also. In the neighbourhood there are small villages named as Baheria, Bharauli, Belahara,Paltenpur(maurya tola),badi bakshai,choti bakshai etc.
