  • A walking tour is generally distinguished from an escorted tour by their length and their tour guides. Walking tours primarily last under 12 hours. They are often led, on foot, by guides that have more than a cursory knowledge of the sights covered on said tour, and seek to explain and illuminate these sights in unique details, such as historical, cultural and artistic significance.
  • A multi-day trip where the primary method of transportation is walking.
