India's second president, Dr.Radhakrishnan studied in the Government Boys High School and the great Tamil writer, M.Varadharasanar also studied in the same school. This school was established during the British rule. Medicine for jaundice is given there and people from several states come and take the medicine.

For the First time in Walajapet, in the year 1957, the Murthy’s Commercial Institute was established by Late C.M. Venkatachala Ayyar (Retd. Teacher). The service of this Institution is still being continued by his son Retd. Teacher Mr. C.V. Krishnamoorthi in effective way with dedication and aim at selfless service to the public, since its inauguration posing as torch bearers to the society.

Hospitals

the Government Hospital in Walajapet is an important hospital in this Taluk serving the residents of many villages around this town. It provides nursing to many outpatients and has a significant number of inpatient facilities too.

Some of the private clinics and hospitals in this area include an Apollo clinic on the Ranipet by-pass road (NH4) and Dr. Kuzhandaivel clinic.

There is a Government Veterinary clinic in Walajapet that serves health needs of the cattle raised by the farmers, shepherds in the area including the many villages in this Taluk.

Lavanya Hospital in Walajapet is one of best private hospitals serving people in and around this town.

For a long time, there were no child health centers in Walajapet. But now Walajapet has the Shree Raghavendra Child Clinic which is doing great job of taking care of the health needs of the kids of this town and the surrounding villages. Dr.SaravanaKumar is very famous in the town for the same.

This town is very famous for the home made medicine for Jaundice which is given in the Pujali Pachaiappan street. It cures jaundice quickly but diet must be followed. People from all over Tamilnadu as well as Andhra and Karnataka visiting the town for the medicine. There will be a long queue in the week ends.

There is also an eminent Dental Clinic in Walajapet. J.P. CLINIC, Dr.J.Pradeep works for 24×7 in serving people in and around villages and town.

All chennai bound buses will stop at Walajapet. It is very useful for the people living in nearby towns (Arcot and Ranipet), villiages to travel to capital of the state.
