In March 2007, Charles Williamson applied to the FCC to transfer the construction permit for this station to Digital Radio Broadcasting, Inc. The transfer was approved by the FCC on March 30, 2007, and the transaction was consummated on April 12, 2007.
Charles "Bud" Williamson purchased the WYNY call letters from WRGO Radio, LLC, licensee of WZCC, Cross City for $3,000.00 in early 2008. This station was officially assigned the WYNY callsign on March 4, 2008. Less than a year later, it reverted to the original WMJQ call letters on January 29, 2009. On March 21, 2010, the station was assigned new WDRE call letters.
On June 16, 2010, the FCC deleted the prospective station's call sign from its database of broadcast radio stations.
