In February 2008, Qantum Communications announced the purchase of 104.9 BOB-FM for $5 Million. The purchase allowed Qantum to change its station WRXZ from a similar format.

History
The call letters WYNA were previously used by a Raleigh, NC AM 1550 radio station from its inception in the 1960's until the late 1970's. It went on the air as a rock station but later became Raleigh's first country station in the late 1960's until it was acquired by Bob Bander in 1979. Though Raleigh was never a major market in those days, WYNA introduced a number of new ideas in music rotation, being among the first country stations to regularly mix album cuts from listeners' favorite artists in with the regular top singles of the day. The call letters changed to WRZR (the Razor) in 1980 and gradually faded from popularity as FM stations began to edge out AM stations in the early 80's.While located in Tabor City, North Carolina
