History
WVOW began operation on May 8, 1952. The license for broadcasting was issued in 1951 to Chauncey Browning Sr., who later became a Supreme Court Justice, Grover Combs, and Clerence Meadows, a former West Virginia Governor. In the station's early years it was located in the Logan Office Building Complex, but in 1959 it moved to the Professional Buildings, its current location. As of May 2011, WVOW currently employees former WMUL broadcasting legend Robert Henry Iddings.Programming
Since the closure of WLOG its main rival, WVOW has become a major station in southern West Virginia. The station now broadcasts a variety of hit music, a series of talk shows, and reruns of old radio sitcoms, and ESPN RadioESPN Radio
