WONB has a public affairs department which is currently lead by Matthew Spangler, this department offers public service announcements from the university and the local community. The public affairs department offers a short program called Northern Notebook which is a current events announcement.
The station also serves as a laboratory for students in ONU's Broadcasting and Electronic Media Program.
