WNOE alumni include Bobby Reno, Captain Humble, Doug Christian, Russ Boney, Cherie "The Oldies" Sweetheart, Michael Copaz, and Buzz Bennet.

was an airstaffer during that time.) It flipped to country music on August 14, 1980. The FM reached its highest ratings success in 1993 under the ownership of NewMedia Broadcasting. Programmed by Operations Manager Dave Nicholson. The station captured as much as 10% of the market listening as measured by Arbitron.

WNOE (AM) with its 50,000 watt signal covered much of the South with Top-40 programming.
