, USA, it serves the Chicago area. The station is currently owned by Calvary Radio Network, Inc. an Indiana non profit corporation that owns 11 full power stations and 18 translator stations in a five state area in the Midwest. WHLP signed on air in October 2001.

Previously, the WHLP call letters belonged to an AM radio station on 1360 in Baltimore, that broadcast an 'all-help-wanted ads' format.

In addition to the main station, WHLP is relayed by an additional eight translators to widen its broadcast area.
