History

The station went on the air as WNJH on May 11, 1961. It was originally owned by Harrell Trucking of Baltimore, MD. In the 1970s the station was purchased by Hammonton resident and local radio veteran Jim Rodio, who changed the call letters to WRDI and began a simulcast with sister station WRDR-FM. Rodio sold the station and the call letters were changed to WTYO on December 31, 1981. The station was then sold to The Green Group out of Linwood, NJ and on March 25, 1991 the call letters were changed to WONZ and began to carry some programming from sister station WOND-Plesantville, NJ. On March 22, 2001 the station assumed the call letters WGYM that had been used by its sister station on 1490 AM in Atlantic city. It also assumed the ESPN programming that had been airing on 1490. On February 22, 2002, the station had dropped the ESPN programming and had gone back to simulcasting WOND.
The station had been listed for sale on a the buysellradio.com website, but the website account has been suspended.

In 2010, the station switched to a simulcast of sister station WBSS.

As of August 12, 2011, the station went back to a simulcast of WOND
