History

WESCO opened in March 1952 by Bud Westgate. The original name of the establishment was Westgate Refinery Outlet. The first WESCO Convenience Store opened in 1978. During the 1980s WESCO acquired Rengo Oil, which in turn doubled the size of the company. The company continued to grow in the 1990s with the purchase of Weaver Oil Company. In 2000, WESCO opened its "Dancin' Donuts" (Renamed "Wesco Bakery" in 2008) Bakery.

Identity Theft Problem

In late 2006, customers that used credit cards at WESCO Convenience Stores, as well as several other Michigan businesses, were subject to identity theft
