History

The 96.1 frequency was the original FM home in Jacksonville for Beautiful Music station WKTZ, now on the noncommercial FM band. It changed call letters to WLCS-FM on October 1, 1985, at which time the WKTZ call letters and format moved to Jacksonville station WFAM. On June 21, 1987, WLCS changed its call sign to the current WEJZ with its current Light Adult Contemporary format.
