 of the Navy's long range Typhoon LR surface to air missile. Development started in 1959, and several fire safety issues delayed the XW-60's development. The Typhoon itself ran in to far more difficult development problems especially in the size and weight of the acquisition and fire control radars and systems. By late 1963 Typhoon was cancelled, with the XW-60 being terminated in March 1964.
