Bhat is noted for having made celebrities of his press reporters. Under his editorship Vijaya Karnataka is famous for Bettale Jagattu by Pratap Simha, Olasuli by Thyagarj, Neeru- Neralu by Radhakrishna Bhadti and his own colunns Janagala Mana, Noorentu Maatu, Suddi Mane Kathe etc.
