in a tough competitive struggle. The player is given the opportunity to become a tycoon. He starts his own company and develops it, competing with thousands of real opponents, winning new markets, providing financial and political power of its corporations. To do this, the player can engage in trade, manufacturing, research, exploitation of natural resources, agriculture. The player manages personnel, finance, marketing, logistics and other business processes. By controlling the corporation the player hires and trains staff, established sales and deliveries, monitors the activities of competitors, improves the quality of his products, enters into business alliances and more.
The game is on virtual money, a sum which each participant receives at registration. These funds are used for the construction of business units, the payment of expenses and investments. Selling products to other players and "the people" controlled by the game, the player earns money that can be used for the development of the company.
The player can choose of more than 20 industries and nearly 100 kinds of goods for his company to produce. In late 2009, the player had opportunities to earn real money in the game by participating in various gaming competitions and tenders.

History
The prototype of Virtonomics was established in 2004, running as a non-commercial project for a few years. 11th December 2006 brought the release of the updated game to the Russian-speaking audience. The game was recognized in Russia as the best economic online game a year later.. The game has entered the global market in 2009, offers free and paid options of play and was translated to several other languages.
