er. He is a right-handed batmsan and wicketkeeper.

He took part in List A cricket from 1993 to 2004. He became India's fifth wicketkeeper in sixteen months during the 2000–01 season. Though not the most elegant of performers, he can sometimes get himself involved in some good innings.

Dahiya was a participant of the North Zone team which won the Duleep and Deodhar Trophies in the 1999–2000 season.
He is the assistant coach of Kolkata Knight Riders, ipl franchisee. .

International career

His international debut was in an ODI against Kenya at Nairobi on oct 3, 2000 in the icc knockout trophy. His contribution in that match which India eventually won was a stumping and a catch.
He went on to play in total 19 ODI’s for India. The last of which was against Australia at margao in the 2001 series.
His highest ODI score was a knock of 51 off 39 deliveries against Australia in the 1st ODI at Bangalore which helped set up a match winning total of 315.
He made his test debut against Zimbabwe at Nagpur in Nov 2000 which India drew. He played only one more test match after that.

Domestic career

It was in the 1993-94 season when dahiya debuted for Delhi against Punjab at Ludhiana. He went on to play for Delhi till his retirement. The highlight of his first class career was that he was an integral part of the North zone team that won the Duleep and Deodhar trophies in the 1999-00 season and also the Board president’s XI which lifted the wills trophy.

Retirement and coaching

He retired from all forms of cricket after playing his last match against Uttar Pradesh in Dec 2006. After his retirement he became the coach of the Delhi team and led them to a ranji trophy triumph in the 2007-08 season ending their 16 year drought. He was appointed the assistant coach of the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight riders in 2009.
