Beach House

The band formed in 2004 with Alex Scally being the only other member, although a drummer often plays live with them for a more complete sound. The genre of the band is considered dream pop because of the slow, atmospheric rhythms displayed in melody and sound.

The voice

Her distinctive vocals have been described as "sultry" and "elegant". She considers a person's voice as a "nice piece of leather", and therefore avoids smoking and screaming to protect it. However, in the mornings she describes it as husky, and drinks a lot of water to confront this problem.
