Victoria Falls Airport serves the tourism industry of Victoria Falls
and is located 18 km south of the town of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
. The existing runway is capable of handling aircraft up to B737 or A319 or equivalent, however, plans are underway to construct a new 4000m runway that will allow larger aircraft to use the airport. Larger aircraft will mean that the Victoria Falls can be accessed directly by long haul flights from the America's, Europe and Asia. The expansion of the airport will also include the construction of a new terminal building.
The airport operates 12 hours per day. It offers airport facilities and services, including aircraft parking, cargo and passenger handling, refueling, weather information, banking, restaurants and duty free shops.
