History

The Agency was originally called the War Pensions Agency and was part of the Department of Social Security, moving to the Ministry of Defence after the June 2001 General Election. It merged with the Armed Forces Personnel Administration Agency in a new Agency (Service Personnel & Veterans Agency) in 2007.
